Why We Started The Wound Nurses

With only 5,000 Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurses in the United States, many bedside nurses and doctors do not have access to the training and expertise that CWONs possess.

Our mission is to provide access to expert Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurses, ensuring healthcare organizations have the expertise they need.

Why Consult with a CWON?

Having access to Board-Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurses offers many significant advantages for healthcare organizations

  • Improved Patient Outcomes

Certified wound and ostomy nurses are trained to conduct thorough assessments of wounds and ostomies, including identifying potential complications and implementing appropriate interventions. This level of assessment can lead to more accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

  • Reduced Rehospitalizations

With specialized knowledge, CWONs contribute to the development and optimization of treatment plans for patients. This may include coordinating care, selecting appropriate interventions, and ensuring that treatments align with evidence-based practices.

  • Enhanced Cost Savings

CWONs are trained to utilize cost-effective interventions, helping the healthcare organizations manage resources efficiently without compromising the quality of care. This can be particularly valuable in maintaining budgetary considerations.

How it Works
